Key Responsibilities Summary:

  • Engine & Systems Repair: Maintain, test, diagnose, and repair petrol engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes on light vehicles.

  • Restoration & Safety: Perform mechanical restoration complying with New Zealand road safety standards.

  • Diagnostics & Maintenance: Use electronic diagnostic tools for fault finding; conduct routine servicing, tune-ups, and test drives.

  • Compliance & Records: Keep accurate workshop documentation and adhere strictly to WorkSafe NZ health and safety standards.

We frequently handle a wide range of lightweight motor vehicles that require mechanical restoration before they are safe and suitable to re-enter the New Zealand market or be prepared for operational use.
To maintain our high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to lead essential repairs, diagnostic work, and mechanical restorations

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of direct relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic (General / Light Vehicle).
Technical Competency: Strong hands-on experience in engine diagnostics, transmission repair, brake systems, and vehicle safety restorations.
Qualifications: Relevant NZQA Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) OR a minimum of 4 years of proven hands-on trade experience (assessed technical competency).
Language Requirement: Proficiency or familiarity with the Dari language is required, as the role involves direct communication with specific staff members, clients, and suppliers who speak Dari.
Strong problem-solving ability, reliability, and attention to detail.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
