We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team, who possesses a strong foundation in carpentry techniques and a thorough understanding of construction practices. The ideal candidate will have at least a level 4 qualification in construction or a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, enabling them to contribute effectively from the outset.
Core Carpentry Skills
- Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings with precision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately execute projects.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using both hand and power tools.
- Ensure all carpentry work adheres to building codes and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion and quality standards.
Construction Techniques & Practices
- Utilize framing, roofing, and finishing techniques to achieve high-quality craftsmanship.
- Perform demolition and renovation tasks while strictly following safety protocols.
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair work on existing structures as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency on site.
Tools & Equipment
- Proficient in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and various saws.
- Experienced with power tools including drills, nail guns, and sanders for efficient work.
- Familiar with measuring tools like tape measures, squares, and levels for precise work.
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, and goggles.
- Ability to safely operate scaffolding and lifts when necessary for high projects.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project managers to understand project timelines and deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.
- Provide input on material selection and construction methods to improve project outcomes.
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or less experienced carpenters on the team.
