Driftline Limited is seeking two reliable and motivated Swinglift Operators / Class 5 Drivers to join our Auckland team. This role involves operating Class 5 trucks and swinglift equipment while ensuring the safe and timely transportation of containers and freight. We are looking for individuals who value safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

 

Shift Times

  • Day Shift: Starts at 6:30 am (12-hour shift)
  • Night Shift: Starts at 6:30 pm (12-hour shift)

Applicants must be available to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Class 5 trucks and swinglift equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-start and routine vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle has a current Certificate of Fitness (COF) and up-to-date Road User Charges (RUC).
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, safely, without damage, and within scheduled timeframes.
  • Estimate and monitor load weights to comply with legal load limits and ensure safe load distribution.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation, including logbooks, proof of delivery, and vehicle records.
  • Follow all company policies, road transport regulations, and health and safety procedures.
  • Report any vehicle faults, incidents, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Maintain a professional standard of customer service when dealing with clients and customers.
  • Keep vehicles clean and in good operating condition.

 

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Hold a New Zealand Class 5 Driver Licence (or an overseas equivalent that can be converted to a New Zealand Class 5 licence).
  • Experience operating a Class 5 truck is preferred.
  • Experience operating a swinglift truck is desirable; however, full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic heavy vehicles.
  • Medically fit and capable of performing the physical requirements of the role.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willing to undergo pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a clean criminal record.

  • Permanent full-time employment.
  • Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Competitive hourly rate of $30.00–$40.00, depending on the experience.
  • Full training for suitable candidates with no swinglift experience.
