We are seeking an experienced and reliable welder to join our growing solar installation team. You will work on residential, commercial and industrial solar projects throughout Auckland. Starting pay offered from $28 to $35 hourly will be fixed according to experience for 30-40 hours a week; however, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per the above pay rate.

Common duties are as below:

  • Weld, fabricate and install solar mounting frames and steel structures
  • Cut, measure and prepare metal components
  • Read and work from drawings, measurements and site instructions
  • Assist with the installation of solar mounting systems and solar panels
  • Operate welding, cutting and power tools safely
  • Inspect completed work and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Follow all site health and safety requirements
  • Work effectively with electricians, solar installers and other team members

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a welding or metal fabrication role.
  2. Applicants with previous solar installation, structural steel or construction experience will be given preference.
  3. Must be available to work early mornings and weekends (based on work arrangement).
  4. Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  5. The ability to work safely at heights and outdoors
  6. Good practical skills and attention to detail
  7. A reliable, hardworking and responsible attitude
  8. Pre-employment drug test and police check are required.
