Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Account Manager / Business Development Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic key accounts.


The Role:

You will inherit an-established portfolio of major manufacturing and multi-site organisations, managing relationships at both Head Office and operational branch level. Your focus will be on understanding your customers' business objectives, identifying opportunities to improve service outcomes, deliver operational efficiencies and introduce additional solutions that genuinely add value.

You will work closely with customers to understand their changing requirements, recommend solutions and continually identify new revenue opportunities across your portfolio.

You will maintain a structured call cycle, conduct regular business reviews, negotiate commercial agreements, prepare proposals and contracts, analyse customer performance and work collaboratively with internal operational teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders across your portfolio.

  • Manage strategic customer relationships at both Head Office and branch level.

  • Conduct regular client visits, business reviews and service meetings.

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upsell of additional services.

  • Prepare quotations, proposals, contracts and pricing agreements.

  • Negotiate commercial outcomes that benefit both the customer and the business.

  • Monitor customer performance, prepare meaningful reports and analyse account activity.

  • Work closely with operations to ensure exceptional service delivery.

  • Resolve customer issues promptly while maintaining strong long-term relationships.

  • Ensure contractual obligations, compliance requirements and service standards are consistently achieved.

About You:

  • Min 3+ years in Account Management preferably where you have sold a service.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate confidently at senior management level.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-site customer relationships.

  • The ability to identify opportunities and present tailored value-added solutions.

  • A consultative, relationship-first sales approach.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management experience.

  • The ability to analyse customer data and prepare meaningful business reports.

  • A proactive, organised and highly professional approach.

  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and growing long-term partnerships.
