The role involves measuring, cutting, and installing plasterboard, insulation, and fittings. Applicant must be physically fit, dependable, and willing to work weekends or travel. Rd Fixers Limited is seeking two reliable and hard-working Plasterboard Fixers to support both ongoing and new residential and commercial projects. The role involves physically demanding work and requires a high level of commitment.
Duties include:

Determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers.

Measuring, marking, and cutting plasterboard; lifting and positioning panels; and securing them to walls, ceilings, studs, and battens.

Preparing corner beads and securing them in position.

Fixing precast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings.
- Safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Applying and fixing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire-rating systems, acoustic tiles, and composite wall linings to buildings.

Following all health and safety procedures and instructions from supervisors.
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
• A relevant Level 4 or higher Qualification in Plaster Board Fixing OR Construction (e.g., Management or related Trades) is required.
• Prior experience in construction is preferred but NOT mandatory.
• Must be physically fit and able to carry out manual labour safely.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to follow instructions.
• Must be available to work weekends and commit to long hours when required to meet project deadlines.
• Some work may be outside Christchurch but mostly in the Canterbury region. Applicants must be willing to travel and stay away from home for 1–2 nights when required.
• Must be genuinely motivated to work in the construction industry and committed to learning on the job.
Training Provided:
Rd Fixers Limited will provide full on-the-job training, including:
• Health & Safety site induction.
• Training in plasterboard fixing methods and safe tool use.
• Ongoing supervision and skill development to meet New Zealand building and safety standards.
