Job Title: Plumber

Key tasks and responsibilities:

·         Read blueprints and drawings to determine the layout of plumbing, drainage, wastewater and water supply systems.

·         Cut, assemble and install pipes, valves, fittings and fixtures for residential and commercial projects.

·         Install underground sanitary drainage, stormwater, wastewater and potable water supply systems.

·         Install, repair and maintain water supply and plumbing systems.

·         Fit valves, couplings, pumps, tanks and other plumbing components using hand and power tools.

·         Excavate trenches and install underground pipework for water, drainage and sewage systems.

·         Install pipe supports, brackets and hangers.

·         Diagnose plumbing faults and carry out repairs and maintenance in accordance with work orders.

·         Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure installations comply with relevant New Zealand Building Code requirements and health and safety regulations.

·         Maintain a clean and safe worksite and follow company health and safety procedures.

 

Permanent full-time position

Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week

Hourly rate: NZD $27.00–$32.00, depending on skills and experience.

 

Requirements for the job:

· Applicants should meet one of the following: At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in plumbing, construction or a related industry/field; OR A Level 4 or higher qualification in plumbing, construction or a related field, OR A Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in any major

·         Registration is not required. Exemption license is also acceptable. Supervision would be provided.

·         Be physically fit and healthy

·         Full-time available

·         Be available to work weekends when required.

·         No criminal record

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
