Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintaining complete and accurate financial records for the business.
- Recording financial transactions and posting entries to accounting systems and general ledgers.
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Preparing customer invoices and following up outstanding accounts.
- Reconciling bank accounts, supplier statements, credit card transactions, and other
financial records. - Preparing and processing payroll, PAYE, KiwiSaver, and other payroll-related obligations.
- Preparing and lodging GST returns and assisting with other taxation requirements.
- Preparing monthly management reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Monitoring business cash flow and maintaining petty cash records.
- Recording purchases, sales, inventory adjustments, and other transactions relating to
wholesale food products. - Assisting with stock valuation and inventory reconciliations in collaboration with
warehouse staff. - Liaising with external accountants, auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and
government agencies regarding financial matters. - Maintaining financial filing systems and ensuring accounting records are complete and up to date.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, New Zealand accounting standards, and relevant taxation legislation.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Performing other bookkeeping and finance administration duties as required.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
- NZQF Level 4 or above qualification Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a
related field; or - At least 3 years relevant working experience
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
