As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of our projects from planning through to completion.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing portable building and installation projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, and project specifications.
Coordinate labour resources and oversee the procurement and timely delivery of materials, plant, and equipment.
Liaise with architects, engineers, consultants, tradespeople, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and property developers to ensure efficient project delivery.
Prepare project estimates, tenders, quotations, and contract documentation.
Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules and coordinated work programs.
Ensure all projects comply with relevant New Zealand building legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements, and quality expectations.
Coordinate and arrange submission of plans and documentation to local authorities where required.
Manage building works directly or engage and supervise specialist subcontractors.
Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure work is completed to agreed quality, programme, and contractual requirements.
Arrange inspections with local authorities and ensure all compliance requirements are achieved before project completion.
Monitor project budgets, identify risks, resolve issues, and provide regular progress updates to management and clients.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Must hold a Bachelor degree OR three years of relevant work experience
Strong knowledge of construction methods, project management principles, and New Zealand building regulations.
Excellent leadership, planning, organisational, and communication skills.
Experience managing subcontractors, project budgets, and multiple stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting project deadlines.
