Collective Building Limited is looking for two experienced Painters to join our growing construction team in Wellington.

 

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and finishing work across residential and commercial building projects. You will work alongside our builders, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure all painting work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a permanent full-time position. You will be required to work at least 40 hours per week between Monday and Saturday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections
  • Apply interior and exterior paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings
  • Perform brush, roller, and spray painting techniques as required
  • Measure and estimate materials required for painting tasks
  • Ensure finished surfaces meet quality standards and client expectations
  • Protect surrounding areas, fixtures, and furniture during painting work
  • Follow project schedules and complete work within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Coordinate with builders, project managers, and other trades on site

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in residential or commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow plans, instructions, and project requirements
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
