All Trades Contract Services are looking for a skilled Stonemason Machine Operator to join our team to work with our client based in Wellington.

About the role:

  • Starting wage of $30.00 per hour
  • Permanent contract.
  • Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Operate and program CNC machinery, bridge saws, waterjets, edge polishers, and other stone fabrication equipment.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and DXF files.
  • Cut, shape, polish, finish, and fabricate granite, marble, engineered stone, and other stone products.
  • Program and modify machine files to achieve required cutting and finishing outcomes.
  • Select and inspect stone slabs and materials to ensure quality, colour consistency, and grain matching.
  • Maximise material yield while minimising waste through effective slab planning and material selection.
  • Produce stone benchtops, splashbacks, vanity tops, and other custom stone components to specification.
  • Carry out quality assurance checks throughout the fabrication process and inspect finished products for defects.
  • Install reinforcing rods and complete finishing work as required.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate production, material usage, and stock records.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with general factory duties and support other team members as required.
