We are building the next generation of AI-native software for builders, trade suppliers, and civil contractors. You will design, build, and deploy intelligent applications that automate complex workflows, optimize supply chains, and streamline heavy construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

AI Engineering & Workflow Automation

  • Architect RAG Pipelines: Design and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to let builders query complex project documents, engineering specs, and local building codes.
  • Build Autonomous Agents: Create multi-agent AI systems that can independently cross-reference material orders against blueprints, flag discrepancies, and notify suppliers.
  • Context Window Optimization: Implement strategy for managing token limits and structured outputs (JSON) when processing massive, multi-page civil contracting tenders.
  • Model Evaluation & Guardrails: Establish testing frameworks to benchmark LLM outputs, reducing hallucinations in high-risk calculations like material quantity takeoffs.

Core Software & System Architecture

  • Develop Real-Time Features: Code highly responsive web and mobile interfaces that field workers, project managers, and suppliers use simultaneously.
  • Construct Robust APIs: Design secure, event-driven RESTful and GraphQL APIs capable of handling high-frequency telemetry data from civil machinery and site delivery trucks.
  • Integrate Legacy Systems: Build middleware to seamlessly sync AI-native tools with traditional construction ERPs, accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB), and inventory databases.
  • Manage Data Pipelines: Build ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and structure messy construction data including handwritten invoices, site photos, and CAD files.

Security, Scale & Deployment

  • Enforce Enterprise Security: Implement strict data isolation protocols so proprietary builder blueprints and supplier pricing structures never leak between client models.
  • Optimize Cloud Infrastructure: Scale containerized microservices across cloud environments to handle sudden spikes in background data processing without lagging.
  • Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Own the continuous integration and deployment cycles to safely push code updates to active construction sites without disrupting daily operations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: Bachelor degree or above in Computing/Information Technology/EE
  • Software Development: 3+ years building production web apps (we use Vue 3 + Firebase, but strong React/Angular engineers welcome)
  • AI Fluent: you actively use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar in your daily flow and can talk credibly about prompt engineering and agentic workflows.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Comfort with Firestone (or another document DB), Cloud Functions and serverless patterns.
  • A bias for shipping: you can take a vague spec, ask the right questions and land a working feature
  • Care for code quality: tests, types, observability — without ceremony
  • Problem Solving: Ability to turn chaotic construction processes into elegant, deterministic software solutions.
