We are looking for an experienced and motivated WTR Operator to join our team, working on a variety of civil construction and earthmoving projects across Hastings and Napier.
About the Role
As a WTR Operator, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a range of earthmoving equipment, including 1.7-tonne to 20-tonne excavators, on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Operating excavators and other earthmoving machinery safely and efficiently.
- Trenching, bulk earthworks, site cuts, backfilling, and final trimming.
- Loading trucks and moving materials around site.
- Assisting with roading, and general civil construction works.
- Carrying out daily pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
- Working alongside ground crews and following directions from supervisors.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised worksite.
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
What We're Looking For
- Current WTR (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) endorsement – essential.
- Proven experience operating 1.7T–20T earthmoving machinery.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Strong understanding of safe operating practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Site Safe Foundation Passport is highly desirable.
- Full Class 1 driver's licence (Class 2 is an advantage).
