Job Details:

Hourly Rate Range: $35.00 -$38.00

Location: Christchurch

Hours of Work：30 hours per week

 The role will include, but not limited to:

  • Teach piano lessons to students including music theories and demonstrate performance skills.

  • Instruct students on performance and give them constructive advice and feedback.

  • Plan, prepare and evaluate lessons, activities and adopt appropriate teaching strategies and methods to meet individual needs.

  • Conduct consultation/interview lessons. 

  • Help students in preparing for performance and examinations/assessments.

  • Develop learning and teaching associated resources that stimulate students’ interests and meet the needs of students at different skill levels.

  • Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment in which consideration is given to all the students’ individual development.

  • Utilise positive and supportive behaviour management strategies that are conducive to effective learning and teaching.

  • Maintain good communications with parents to support ongoing practice and learning.

  • Accompany students to attend performances, and competitions if needed.

  • Actively attend relevant courses, seminars, webinars, workshops., etc for continued professional development if required.

  • Fulfill other duties as reasonably required by the Director. 

Requirements: 

  • A Bahcelor’s degree or higher qualification in Music/Musical Art is required.

  •  Having piano stage performance experience is preferable.

  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.

  • Excellent work ethic and great time management.

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Team player and passion for industry
