We are looking for Two Truck Driver Assistants to join our dynamic team based in Chrischurch. As a Truck Driver Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients across various locations.

  • Position: Truck Driver Assistants
  • Hourly Rate: $26 - $28
  • Minimum Weekly Hours: 30
  • Location: Chrischurch

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the truck driver with loading and unloading furniture and household goods.
  • Lift, carry, and move furniture safely using correct manual handling techniques.
  • Wrap, pad, and secure furniture and fragile items to prevent damage during transport.
  • Pack and unpack customer belongings as required.
  • Assemble and disassemble furniture when necessary.
  • Secure loads inside the truck using straps, blankets, and protective equipment.
  • Assist with delivering furniture to customers' homes or business premises.
  • Place furniture in the designated rooms according to customer instructions.
  • Operate trolleys, dollies, hand trucks, and other moving equipment safely.
  • Inspect furniture for any existing or new damage and report issues to the driver or supervisor.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the truck and moving equipment.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe lifting practices.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service during collections and deliveries.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, including preparing deliveries and organising stock, when required.

Requirements:

  • 6 Months Experience or any level 2 qualification
  • Physical stamina and the ability to handle long distance driving and manual labour.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends, as needed.

To be considered for this role you must be in NZ, and either be an NZ resident, citizen or have the legal right to work in NZ full time.
