Tejinder Singh Bajwa is seeking a reliable Courier Driver to join its team in the Wellington region and provide efficient courier delivery services. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, responsible, and committed to ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The role requires travel within the region, and all work-related travel expenses, including fuel and travel costs, will be covered by the employer.
Key duties include -
- Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
- Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
- Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Delivering parcels, ensuring they’re delivered safely (lifting up to 25 kgs).
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
- Use of hand-held scanners to log information.
- Keeping & maintaining records of items received and delivered.
- Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
- Manage the receipts of the inward mails/parcels, checking & verifying the couriers which are sent to the wrong addresses or are undelivered. Redirect them to the correct location accordingly.
- Sorting and sequencing items for delivery.
- Follow all road safety rules, traffic regulations, and company procedures while operating delivery vehicles.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the smooth operation of courier services.
The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $25 to $30 per hour.
Other important requirements:
- Relevant experience is preferred and not mandatory.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Physically fit and able to carry heavy items for an extended period
- Attention to detail with strong time management skills
- Able to work on a rotational roster with an early start or late finish according to the workload.
- Able to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
- Able to pass drug tests on any random day.
- Able to pass the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check.
