About Us

Bazaar Limited operates VIP's Vape, a specialist vape retail store in Temuka, offering a wide range of vaping devices, e-liquids and accessories. We are committed to delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high retail standards and ensuring full compliance with New Zealand legislation governing the sale of regulated products. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead the daily operations of the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the vape retail store.

  • Lead, supervise, recruit, train and motivate retail staff to achieve business objectives.

  • Ensure outstanding customer service and build long-term customer relationships.

  • Manage purchasing, inventory control, stock ordering and supplier relationships.

  • Monitor sales performance, budgets and profitability and implement strategies to maximise revenue.

  • Ensure compliance with the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990, including age verification procedures and responsible retailing of vaping products.

  • Oversee merchandising, pricing, promotional campaigns and product displays.

  • Manage cash handling, banking, POS reconciliation and financial reporting.

  • Prepare staff rosters, monitor attendance and conduct performance reviews.

  • Maintain accurate operational records and prepare management reports.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and retail best practices.

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints professionally.

  • Maintain store security, minimise stock loss and ensure efficient store operations.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer experience and business growth.

Skills & Experience

Applicants must have:

  • At least 2 years' relevant retail management experience, or

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Retail Management, Management or a related discipline.

The successful applicant will also demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with POS systems, inventory management and financial reporting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Sound understanding of New Zealand retail compliance requirements.

  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
