Great Earth Construction Limited is based in Auckland. We are looking for one Fabricator Welder to join our awesome team.

You will be expected to work at various sites within the Auckland region. This job requires you to work a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28.00 - $33.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications to identify job requirements.

  • Select, clean and prepare suitable metal materials.

  • Cut marked metal sections and components using hand tools, cutting machinery and flame-cutting equipment.

  • Form and bend metal sections and pipes using manual tools, machinery, heat and hammering techniques.

  • Position and align components using measuring instruments and hand tools.

  • Assemble metal components through welding, bolting and riveting.

  • Inspect completed welds for bead width, penetration, accuracy and overall quality.

  • Finish fabricated products through cleaning, polishing, filing and acid treatment.

  • Remove excess material and smooth welds using grinders, files and chisels.

  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Having 2-year experience in fabricating or welding operations.

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
