About Us
NZCH Homes Ltd is a busy construction company in Auckland specialising in residential building and house construction. We are seeking three full-time Carpenters to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry tasks in line with construction drawings and specifications. You will play a key role in building, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow construction drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Identify and source appropriate materials, including timber and hardware.
- Cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
- Construct and install framework, roof trusses, sub-floors, and floorboards.
- Ensure all structures are level, aligned, and properly secured.
- Install roof sheathing, fascia boards, external cladding, and window and door frames.
- Build and install wooden fixtures such as walls, partitions, and staircases.
- Create strong and accurate wood joints for assembling various structures.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Perform other carpentry-related duties as required by the Employer.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of work experience in the construction/building industry, or at least a level 4 relevant qualification, or a bachelor's degree or higher in any area.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
The employee will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and must be available to work on weekends. The hourly rate ranges from $25 to $30. On-site training will be provided. Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or residents. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
