Truck driver

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Class 4 trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods throughout the Auckland region and other locations as required.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload freight in accordance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Plan delivery routes and ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
• Conduct pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all freight is transported securely to prevent damage during transit.
• Complete delivery documentation, logbooks, and other transport records accurately.
• Comply with all New Zealand road transport regulations, company policies, and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all delivery and collection points.

Skills and Experience

• A current and valid New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence (or an equivalent overseas licence that can be converted to a New Zealand licence).
• Previous experience driving heavy vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to load and secure freight safely.
• Physically fit and capable of handling loading and unloading duties where required.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• To be able to clear drug test and Clean Character background check.
• A clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices are highly desirable.
