We are now looking for two experienced and dependable Fibrous Plasterers to join our Auckland team.
Key responsibilities
- Install fibrous plaster ceilings, suspended ceilings, wall linings and decorative plaster systems.
- Measure, cut, shape, fit and secure fibrous plaster sheets, ceiling panels, cornices, ceiling roses, columns and mouldings.
- Produce and assemble fibrous plaster components using moulds, plaster compounds and reinforcement materials.
- Restore and repair damaged fibrous plaster ceilings, cornices and decorative architectural features.
- Apply joint compounds, fill gaps, sand surfaces and prepare smooth, seamless plaster finishes.
- Install custom-made plaster mouldings and decorative features according to drawings and client specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings and project specifications.
- Set out work accurately and ensure completed installations meet project and quality requirements.
- Inspect completed work and ensure compliance with relevant New Zealand building requirements.
- Operate and maintain plastering tools, equipment and machinery safely.
- Handle and transport plaster materials and finished products carefully.
- Coordinate with builders, painters, electricians and other tradespeople.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Report defects, hazards and site issues promptly.
- Perform other related duties reasonably required by management
Ideal candidates must meet the following requirements
- 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification or a Bachelor Degree in any field
- Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
- Physically fit in any conditions - hot, cold, dusty, indoors or outdoors.
- Long-term, full-time commitments needed.
