Two specialist engineering opportunities. One outstanding employer.
Not every workshop is the same.
Some are constantly firefighting. Others cut corners to get jobs out the door. This isn't one of them.
Our client is one of New Zealand's most respected industrial engineering businesses, trusted to maintain and manufacture equipment that keeps some of the country's largest industries operating. They invest heavily in their people, workshop and future growth, and as a result, two permanent opportunities have become available for experienced tradespeople who take real pride in their work.
Whether you are an accomplished Fitter Turner ready to lead a team; or a Hydraulic Technician who enjoys solving complex problems, you will be joining a business where quality matters, your experience is valued and you will have the backing of an exceptional team.
Opportunity One
Fitter Turner - $44 / hour plus OT
You're a trade-qualified Fitter Turner who takes pride in producing precision components and delivering quality workmanship every time. Whether you're machining new parts, repairing worn components or working to tight tolerances, you enjoy solving engineering challenges and seeing the finished product come together.
This is a hands-on workshop role where you'll be machining, fitting and assembling a wide variety of components for heavy industrial and hydraulic equipment. You'll work with both conventional and CNC machinery, interpret engineering drawings, and carry out precision fitting and machining to the high standards IMG is known for.
If you enjoy varied work, take pride in accuracy, and want to be part of a well-equipped workshop with plenty of overtime available, this is an excellent opportunity to join a respected New Zealand engineering business.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
-
Trade qualification as a Fitter Turner (or equivalent heavy machining background)
-
Five or more years' machining experience
-
Experience mentoring, supervising or leading workshop teams
-
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications
-
A genuine commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
Opportunity Two
Hydraulic Service Technician - $40-$46 / hour plus OT
If fault finding is your strength and you enjoy the challenge of diagnosing hydraulic systems that others can't, this role is worth a look.
You can enjoy working in a modern workshop, repairing and servicing hydraulic equipment used throughout heavy industry.
No two days are the same - rebuild cylinders, overhaul pumps and motors, diagnose faults and deliver practical engineering solutions that keep customers operating.
About you:
-
Mechanical trade qualification
-
Proven hydraulic service and repair experience
-
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
-
Confidence reading hydraulic schematics
-
Excellent customer service and communication skills
-
A practical, solutions-focused approach
We're interested in people who care about doing the job properly. People who take pride in their workmanship. People who enjoy being part of a close-knit team and aren't afraid to roll their sleeves up when the workload demands it.
If you are, technically capable and looking for a long-term opportunity with a business that's continuing to invest and grow, we'd like to hear from you.
