Job Title: Cabinetry CAD Drawer

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cabinetry drawings for residential and commercial projects, including kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries, and other custom joinery, using CAD software.
  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings incorporating dimensions, material specifications, hardware details, machining requirements, and assembly instructions for production.
  • Develop and maintain 3D cabinetry models to support design visualisation, production planning, and installation verification.
  • Prepare cutting lists, component schedules, and material lists to facilitate efficient manufacturing and material procurement.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, interior design plans, project specifications, and client requirements, converting design concepts into accurate and manufacturable cabinetry documentation.
  • Liaise with designers, architects, project managers, clients, and production staff to clarify technical requirements and ensure design intent is accurately reflected in production drawings.
  • Select appropriate cabinetry materials, finishes, benchtops, hardware, fittings, and accessories in accordance with project specifications, manufacturing standards, and company requirements.
  • Review and verify drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications, company drafting standards, manufacturing requirements, and installation feasibility.
  • Revise and update drawings in response to client requests, site measurements, design changes, production feedback, or project variations.
  • Generate CNC-compatible production data and coordinate with CNC programmers and manufacturing personnel to support accurate machining and efficient production processes.
  • Maintain organised drawing records, revision histories, and project documentation to ensure version control and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve technical drawing issues arising during manufacturing and installation by preparing revised drawings and implementing design modifications where required.

 

Permanent full-time position

Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week

Hourly rate: NZD $30.00–$38.00, depending on skills and experience.

 

Requirements for the job:

·   Applicants should meet one of the following: At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a related industry/field; OR A Level 4 or higher qualification in design, architecture, building, engineering, CAD, 3D, or a related field, OR A Bachelor’s Degree or higher qualification in any major.

·         Ability to use CAD software.

·         Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

·         Available to work full-time, with flexibility to work on weekends when required.

·         No criminal record.

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident.
