Smart Auto Solutions Ltd is looking for a reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Truck Driver to join our kerbside collection team. If you enjoy driving, working outdoors, and providing an essential service to the community, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Truck Driver, you will operate an automatic Class 4 truck to provide safe and efficient kerbside collection services. You will be responsible for collecting, transporting, and disposing of liquid and hazardous waste while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Operating an automatic Class 4 truck safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out kerbside collection services according to scheduled routes.
  • Operate vehicle-mounted equipment safely.
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of liquid and hazardous waste in accordance with company procedures.
  • Complete accurate records, documentation, and daily paperwork.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
  • Maintain the truck and equipment in a clean and roadworthy condition.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while interacting with members of the public.
  • Assist with lifting rubbish bags and emptying recycling bins (up to 15 kg).
  • Climb in and out of the truck multiple times throughout the day.

Skills and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A current New Zealand Class 4 Driver Licence OR equivalent overseas license
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.

Employment Conditions

  • Permanent full-time position.
  • Minimum 30 hours per week.
  • Work may be required on weekends, public holidays or outside normal business hours as operationally required.
