This is a full-time role with minimum guranteed 30 to 40 hours of work per week. Pay starts from $32 to $35 per hour

Key responsibilities

  • Maintaining and upkeeping of our vibrant gardens including mowing, pruning, weeding, lawn care, planting 
  • Working effectively and efficiently within the team and with management to achieve the highest standards and reputation of our company
  • Cultivate and care for plants in predominately an outdoor setting through performance of any combination of following duties as directed by supervisory personnel:
  • Conditions and prepares soils and plants seeds, seedlings, or bulbs in an outdoor growing area, using spades, trowels, sprayers, sprinklers, cultivators, and other gardening hand tools and equipment. 
  • Fertilizes, waters, weeds, transplants, or thins plants in growing areas. 
  • Maintenance of existing Commercial and Domestic Gardens 
  • Site clearance, usually in preparation of new gardens 
  • Preparing sites using hand tools and machinery 
  • Transplant plants from pots to gardens according to work plan. Planting and staking are to be carried out in accordance with good horticultural practice 
  • Mix and apply chemicals/pesticides to control insects and diseases in plants to maintain health of plans. 
  • General landscape/garden duties including pruning trees and shrubs, weeding, trimming and mowing lawns. This work will be carried out with the correct use of maintenance and carpentry tools in a horticulturally correct manner. 
  • Artificial and instant turf installation and management 
  • Irrigation installation and maintenance 
  • Maintenance of tools and machinery (not including electrical repairs) 
  • Continuing to upskill yourself with a view that there is always something new to learn 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience preferably as Gardener Assistant is required for the role. 
  • Proven experience in opertaing Ride on Mower would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of plants, soils, fertilizers, and pest control methods is a requirement for this role.
  • Basic Knowledge or Experience with garden tools, lawnmowers, and trimmers is expected. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Good physical fitness to handle outdoor tasks in different weather conditions
  • Must have A Valid Drivers Licence or able to get one.
