About Opportunity Reporting to the Project Director, the Environment & Sustainability Manager manages delivery of the Environmental Management System and Sustainability Strategy across design and construction. You will set governance, controls and performance reporting, embed requirements into delivery planning and commercial decisions, and direct the people, budgets and systems needed to meet compliance obligations and project commitments. You will manage a team of seven and represent the function to the client, regulators and ACCIONA.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

  • Own project-wide EMS implementation and continual improvement
  • Turn sustainability strategy into measurable plans and milestones
  • Embed environmental requirements into design, procurement and contracts
  • Manage and develop a team of environment and sustainability specialists
  • Control monitoring, consultant and sustainability budgets
  • Oversee assurance, audits, inspections and management reviews
  • Direct incident response, investigation and corrective action

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field
  • CEnvP or equivalent professional accreditation
  • ISC Accredited Professional status
  • Working knowledge of the RMA and Fast-track Approvals Act
  • Experience on complex civil infrastructure, PPP preferred

The project will initially be based in Auckland and then move to an office between Warkworth and Wellsford.
