We're seeking a clinical psychologist to join our collaborative rehabilitation team. This is a role with strong a strong focus on direct patient care, combining assessment, therapy, problem-solving, and working closely with a skilled interdisciplinary team.

You would be part of a wider psychology network along with strong support from allied health and medical colleagues.

About the Team

The Persistent Pain Service is a specialist outpatient service based at Dunedin Hospital, supporting people living with complex pain conditions lasting longer than three months. Working within a highly skilled interdisciplinary team, you'll collaborate with pain medicine specialists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based, holistic care that helps people regain independence, improve function, and enhance their quality of life.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver high-quality psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions within a supportive interdisciplinary team, helping individuals and whānau build resilience, enhance wellbeing, and achieve positive outcomes through a culturally safe, strengths-based approach.

• Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment for people experiencing persistent pain and associated psychological distress.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver integrated, person-centred care.
• Support clients and whānau to develop resilience, coping strategies, recovery, and improved quality of life.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, staff education, consultation, and supervision activities.
• Maintain the highest standards of professional practice, adhering to NZ Psychologists Board guidelines, ethical standards, and relevant legislation.
• Access ongoing professional development opportunities while working in a supportive and innovative clinical environment.

About you

You are a registered Clinical Psychologist with a passion for helping people navigate the challenges of persistent pain and improve their quality of life. A collaborative and compassionate practitioner, you bring strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, a commitment to culturally safe practice, and the ability to build positive relationships with clients, whānau, and colleagues across disciplines.

• Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board
• Experienced in providing psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions for adults with complex health or mental health needs.
• Committed to culturally responsive, person-centred care and achieving equitable health outcomes.
• Skilled at working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and providing consultation to colleagues.
• Motivated to contribute to service development, supervision, teaching, and ongoing professional growth.
