Demi Chef

Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort are looking for a skilled and motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, cooking, and presentation, while helping deliver a high-quality dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
  • Assist in the development and plating of high-quality meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
  • Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
  • Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen efficiency improvements.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Full-time position
  • Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
  • No split shifts required
  • Shifts may include breakfast, lunch, and dinner services (dinner closes at 7.45pm)

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation): Monday - Friday: $31.30 per hour Saturday: $39.13 per hour Sunday: $46.95 per hour Position located in Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, 4551

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Relevant Australian cookery qualifications, ideally Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards.
  • Understanding of HACCP, OH&S, and kitchen hygiene requirements.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
