Drywall Worker Wanted
Work Location: Auckland Region
Employment type: Full-time (minimum 30 hours/per week, roster from Monday to Saturday), Permanent role
Our pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour depending on skills and experience
We are a construction company based in Auckland
We are now looking for 8x Drywall Workers to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company.
Tasks you may carry out:
Set up the job sites and prepare the layouts
Load, unload, or move plasterboard, materials, tools, and equipment & heavy lifting around the construction sites
Check site safety and identify working at heights hazards. Report risks and work after hazard relief.
Install plasterboard on timber and metal frames used in building construction and repair.
Fix the plasterboard using the correct method under the NZ Building Code, ensuring that all fixings, screws or nails, are seated just below the surface of the plasterboard and are fastened at correct spacing, fastener type, length and gauge.
Measuring, cutting, positioning, and fixing various types of plasterboard, ceiling systems and composite wall linings to walls, etc
Applying multiple coats of plaster to walls, ceilings, or partitions of buildings, using a trowel, skimmer, brushes, and other hand/power tools
Ensuring the final surface is smooth and free of imperfections, such as bumps, cracks, or unevenness.
Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement, and similar materials
Any GIB fixing, holes, and damage repairs. Follow instructions from supervisors
Use equipment, machinery & tools in a responsible & safe manner
Clean work area, maintaining work tools and machines daily after the work is done.
Physically fit and able for overhead work, manual labour, heavy lifting and climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, handling repetitive overhead motions, working on EWP, stilts.
Analyze drawings and specifications to assess proper layouts and determine best practice installation procedure
Ensure that the bracing system is used according to the approved plan, fire rated wall/ceiling/ structural member junctions are sealed or stopped to pass Postline council inspection.
To be successful, you will need to:
· Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the same field/industry, OR
· Have a level 4 qualification or above(equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)
· Must be physically fit and able for overhead work, manual labour, heavy lifting and climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, handling repetitive overhead motions, working on EWP, stilts.
· Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
· Good eye for detail and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
· Have a “can-do” attitude
