About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Courier Delivery Driver to join our team. This is a full-time Permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Start time is 5:00 AM, with finishing time depending on daily parcel volumes.

A company van will be provided. We are responsible for mechanical repairs and maintenance. However, the successful applicant will be responsible for the vehicle insurance excess (up to $2,000) if they are at fault in an accident or damage occurs through negligence.

Delivery Drivers are responsible for the safe handling, security, and accurate delivery of all freight entrusted to them. Drivers must follow all company procedures for scanning, loading, securing, and delivering parcels.

Any loss, theft, or damage resulting from a driver's proven negligence, misconduct, or deliberate breach of company procedures may be investigated. Where permitted by New Zealand law and the terms of the employment agreement, the company may seek to recover any losses caused by such negligence or misconduct.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and collect parcels safely and on time.
  • Sort and organise freight before starting deliveries.
  • Load and unload goods safely and securely.
  • Verify freight and delivery documentation.
  • Obtain proof of delivery from customers.
  • Build professional relationships with customers and team members.
  • Report vehicle defects, maintenance issues, accidents, or traffic violations.
  • Follow all road rules, company policies, and health and safety procedures.
  • Assist with any other reasonable duties required by the employer.
  • Travel to and work in Masterton when required.

Skills & Requirements

  • Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence (or an equivalent overseas licence).
  • Level 4 diploma or higher or at least 1 years' relevant work experience.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry parcels up to 30 kg.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
