Position Overview
Jerry Kitchen & Bath Limited is seeking an experienced Production Manager to plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate the company’s manufacturing activities for customised kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, benchtop, and related interior products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, workshop resources, labour allocation, material flow, quality control, production efficiency, and coordination between design, sales, measurement, manufacturing, and installation teams. This role is central to ensuring that customer orders and project requirements are manufactured accurately, efficiently, safely, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate daily manufacturing operations for customised kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, and related interior products.
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders, project deadlines, material availability, and installation requirements.
- Allocate labour, machinery, workshop space, tools, materials, and other physical resources to meet production targets.
- Supervise production staff, cabinet makers, workshop workers, and relevant subcontracted production support where required.
- Coordinate with design, sales, measurement, procurement, and installation teams to ensure drawings, specifications, measurements, and customer requirements are correctly translated into production.
- Monitor production progress, workflow efficiency, labour productivity, material usage, and output quality.
- Establish and maintain production standards, quality control procedures, inspection processes, and corrective action systems.
- Ensure manufactured products meet design specifications, functional requirements, customer expectations, and company quality standards.
- Manage inventory coordination, material ordering requirements, stock usage, wastage control, and supplier communication relating to production.
- Identify production delays, technical issues, resource shortages, rework risks, and workflow bottlenecks, and implement practical solutions.
- Ensure workshop activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, equipment safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate production records, job sheets, workflow reports, quality checks, and staff allocation records.
- Review production performance and recommend improvements to processes, equipment use, staffing, training, cost control, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support management in planning production capacity for residential, commercial, retail, and wholesale projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in manufacturing, production management, industrial management, engineering, construction management, business management, or a related field; or substantial relevant industry experience.
- Relevant experience in production management, manufacturing management, workshop management, cabinet manufacturing, joinery production, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing planning, workflow control, labour coordination, material management, and quality control.
- Experience in kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, joinery, interiors, furniture, building products, or custom manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings, measurements, specifications, job sheets, and installation requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage production staff, coordinate teams, and maintain productivity under deadlines.
- Good knowledge of machinery, workshop equipment, production processes, material usage, and manufacturing safety requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs, competing deadlines, and changing customer or project requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, production scheduling tools, inventory systems, CAD/CAM-related workflow systems, or similar software would be an advantage.
- Mandarin communication skills may be advantageous due to supplier, staff, or customer communication needs.
