​About the Role:
​We are seeking a reliable, thorough, and experienced Commercial Cleaner to join our team in Hawke'sbay. This role specializes in after-hours commercial cleaning and late-night event cleaning.
 
​Please note: This is not a standard daytime 9am–5pm role. Applicants must be available to work late nights (frequently after midnight until early morning), evenings from 6:00 PM onwards, and weekends to service post-event commercial venues.
 
Hours of Work: Late nights, after-hours, and weekends required (shifts typically fall between 6:00 PM and early morning) with a minimum of 30 hours of work per week 
 
​Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • ​Perform after-hours and post-event commercial cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and heavy waste disposal.
  • ​Work late-night and early-morning shifts (including weekends) to clean and restore commercial event venues and offices.
  • ​Deep clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and high-traffic common areas after hours.
  • ​Safely handle, mix, and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • ​Safely operate commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., commercial vacuums, floor scrubbers/buffers).
  • ​Secure premises, alarms, and doors upon completion of after-hours cleaning duties.
​Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • ​Availability: Must be available to work evenings, late nights (midnight to early morning), and weekends.
  • ​Work Experience: 6+ months of proven commercial, industrial, or event cleaning experience preferred.
  • ​Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of workplace Health & Safety and standard chemical handling procedures.
  • ​Physical Fitness: Capability to carry out physical cleaning tasks, operate equipment, and work efficiently during night shifts.
  • ​Reliability: Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work autonomously during after-hours shifts.
  • ​Licence/Transport: Must have reliable private transport to travel to and from late-night shifts safely (public transport is not suitable for these hours).
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice criminal record check, due to after-hours access to secure commercial properties.
