We're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team at our Head Office in New Plymouth.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a business that designs, manufactures and delivers complete turnkey solutions across a wide range of industries.

About the Role

Working closely with our Business Development, Projects and Manufacturing teams, you'll prepare accurate and competitive estimates for a diverse range of electrical projects and prefabricated plant rooms.

You'll be involved from the earliest stages of project development, helping to identify opportunities, assess risk and develop winning pricing strategies.

No two days will be the same.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Developing labour, material and equipment cost estimates.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working alongside Project Managers and Engineers during handover.
• Assisting with value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Supporting continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, has a commercial mindset and takes pride in producing accurate work.

Ideally you'll have:

• An Electrical Trade qualification or Electrical Engineering background.
• Sound understanding of MV/HV equipment and systems.
• Previous estimating experience within industrial electrical projects and or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and equipment.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong computer literacy (Excel and estimating software experience desirable).
• A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Experience pricing switchrooms, substations, MCCs, industrial control systems or prefabricated plant rooms would be highly regarded.
