GREWAL TRUCKING LIMITED, a professional provider of road freight transport services, is seeking Truck Drivers (Swing Lift Operators) to join its team in the Canterbury region and support the efficient day-to-day transport operations of the business.

The successful candidate will be required to travel within and the nearby regions. All work-related travel and fuel costs will be covered by the employer.

Key Duties:

  • Drive Truck to transport freight and shipping containers to designated locations safely and efficiently.
  • Operate swing lifter (side lifter) equipment to safely load and unload shipping containers as required.
  • Conduct pre-start and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is safe, roadworthy, and fit for operation.
  • Secure loads and ensure freight is transported in accordance with road transport legislation and safety requirements.
  • Plan delivery routes and schedules to ensure the timely collection and delivery of freight.
  • Complete delivery records, driver logbooks, and other transport documentation accurately.
  • Monitor the condition of the vehicle and report mechanical faults, defects, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Refuel the vehicle and maintain its cleanliness and presentation.
  • Comply with New Zealand road transport legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies at all times.
  • Report accidents, incidents, delays, or damaged freight to management and follow the required reporting procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and provide a high standard of service.
  • Assist with the safe loading, unloading, and securing of freight to prevent damage during transport.

    You will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and be paid between $30 to $35 per hour.

    Other Requirements:
  • Valid NZ Truck Driver’s licence (Class-5) or an overseas equivalent heavy Truck Driver’s
    License with a clean driving record.
  • Must be available to work night shifts.
  • Physically fit and capable of meeting the day-to-day demands of the role.
  • Reliable and flexible to work weekends when required.
  • Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Able to pass a Criminal Record Check by MOJ.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
