Online Shopping Manager

Location: New Plymouth, Taranaki
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week, rostered across 7 days (including weekends), with additional rostered hours up to 45 hours depending on operational requirements
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience

About the business

CS Supplements Pvt Limited is a growing New Zealand-owned retail business specialising in health, fitness, wellness and nutritional products.

As part of our continued business growth and increased focus on e-commerce, we are seeking an experienced and technically capable Online Shopping Manager to manage, oversee and further develop our online retail operations.

This role will be primarily based at our New Plymouth workplace. Occasional travel to our upcoming Taupō and Lower Hutt operations may be required to support business systems, stock coordination and online retail activities.

This is an on-site position and is not a remote-working role.

About the role

The Online Shopping Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation and continued development of the company’s e-commerce website and digital sales channels.

The successful applicant will oversee online product presentation, website administration, digital merchandising, order-management processes, inventory coordination and the overall online customer experience.

The role will work closely with company management, store staff, suppliers and external service providers to ensure that the online retail operation runs efficiently and supports the growth of the wider business.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage, organise and oversee the day-to-day operation of the company's e-commerce website and online retail platforms.
  • Administer the online shopping platform, including product categories, pricing, product availability and promotional content.
  • Create, edit and maintain accurate online product listings, descriptions, images and product information.
  • Monitor website functionality, performance and user experience, and coordinate technical updates and improvements where required.
  • Perform front-end and back-end website administration, including website content updates, configuration changes and routine system maintenance.
  • Manage online order processing and coordinate with store staff to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment.
  • Maintain integration and synchronisation between the website, inventory management system and physical store stock.
  • Analyse online sales performance, website traffic and customer purchasing trends, and prepare reports for management.
  • Coordinate digital merchandising, promotional campaigns and website content to enhance the online shopping experience.
  • Assist with website security, software updates, backups and general system maintenance.
  • Liaise with website developers, software providers and other third-party vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
  • Train and support staff in the use of the company's e-commerce systems and online retail processes.
  • Coordinate online retail operations across company locations as required.
  • Ensure online product information and digital content remain accurate, up to date and compliant with company policies.

 

Minimum requirements

Applicants must have either:

  • a relevant bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, E-commerce, or a closely related field; or
  • at least three years of relevant work experience in e-commerce management, online retail operations, digital commerce, website administration or a closely related field.

 

Applicants must also demonstrate:

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and website administration.
  • Strong understanding of online retail operations, including product management, inventory and order fulfilment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work on-site in New Plymouth and travel to other company locations when required.

 

Desirable experience

Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

  • Shopify, WooCommerce or similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Website analytics and online sales reporting.
  • Basic HTML, CSS and website troubleshooting.
  • Digital merchandising and SEO.
  • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
  • Experience with inventory synchronisation and e-commerce integrations.
  • Experience in the health, fitness, nutrition or supplement retail industry.
