Experienced Translator (Mandarin and English)is needed for CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY LIMITED t/a CIA Education & Travel in Auckland Northshore.

Minimum Requirement:

Relevant tertiary qualification in related areas such as business, management or marketing.

Salary:$28 per hour

Working time: Monday to Friday 40 hour per week

 Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translate a wide range of documents accurately between Mandarin and English, including education-related documents, visa application materials, academic records, correspondence, policies, and marketing materials.
  • Interpret verbally during meetings, consultations, interviews, and communication between Mandarin-speaking clients and English-speaking staff or external parties.
  • Proofread and review translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, grammar, terminology, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Assist education consultants in communicating with prospective and existing students, parents, and education providers.
  • Translate information relating to study programmes, enrolment procedures, student support services, and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and ensure all translations comply with professional and ethical standards.
  • Research industry-specific terminology to ensure accurate translation of immigration, education, and travel-related documents.
  • Liaise with education institutions, government agencies, and service providers to facilitate effective bilingual communication.
  • Assist in preparing bilingual promotional materials, website content, brochures, and social media content.
  • Support administrative tasks related to translation projects, including document management, record keeping, and meeting deadlines.
  • Work closely with the management team to improve communication processes and provide language support across the business.
  • Perform other translation and language support duties as reasonably required.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating education, immigration, business, or travel-related documents.
