The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. We are enabling Northland to contribute to the decarbonisation challenge by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.
About the role
Kick-start your engineering career with hands-on experience across Top Energy's network developments. In this graduate role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to support the safe, effective operation, optimisation and expansion of our electricity network, while gaining practical exposure to real projects that help shape a more sustainable energy future for the Far North.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, have a full current driver's licence, and bring a strong commitment to safety and quality. You will be self-motivated, willing to learn, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in the electrical industry and familiarity with DigSilent power system analysis software, or an equivalent tool, would be advantageous but are not essential.
Key areas of focus
- Contribute to the preparation of the Network Development Plan (covering short, medium and long terms)
- Carry out network load flow and fault analyses to enable operational constraints to be determined, and for the development of protection scheme architecture and protection settings
- Prepare design concepts and options and propose optimal solutions for detailed design
