About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Risk Manager to oversee and manage the fund's corporate funding, liquidity, and financial risk control activities. The role will also provide financial risk oversight and support in relation to acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial risk advice and contribute to the company’s long-term financial stability, risk management, and operational objectives.
Candidates need to work a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm. Working more than 40 hours may be required with additional hourly payment, but overtime will be no more than 8 hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
· Collect and organize financial documents from investors (mainly Chinese investors /shareholders), conduct compliance reviews, and ensure that the investments meet both China’s outbound investment regulations and New Zealand’s investment-related rules to maintain the proper functioning of the investment process.
· Assist potential shareholders and creditors in assessing the compliance of their investment conditions to ensure overall compliance of the investment process and provide ongoing support to maintain compliance of funds in the later stages.
· In the process of the company's investment projects, responsible for reviewing project documents and handling all matters related to due diligence checks to assist the company in confirming and completing the final acquisition.
· Manage the company's share capital, debt, securities and taxation planning and prepare related documents to assist with fund transfers.
· Oversee treasury operations, liquidity and foreign currency exposure across the fund's NZD, HKD and RMB positions.
· Develop, implement and review financial risk management strategies, policies and procedures.
· Conduct analyses and investigations to identify, manage and report on financial risk.
· Maintain effective financial risk controls to protect fund assets, support accurate financial risk reporting and report to the management, the Board in bilingual language of English and Chinese in a professional way.
Pay:
We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from NZD $ 100K to NZD $120K, based on a 40-hour working week. The final salary will be determined by the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Additional remuneration may be provided for approved overtime work, where applicable.
Qualifications and experience:
Applicants must have either:
· A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Finance, Financial Risk Management, Accounting, Law or a closely related field; or
· If the qualification requirement is not met, at least five years of relevant work experience in financial risk management, treasury, financial compliance, internal audit, corporate finance, or a closely related field.
Skills and attributes:
The successful applicant should also have:
· Strong knowledge of financial risk assessment, treasury management, and risk controls.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial decision-making skills.
· The ability to prepare and present high-level financial risk management reports in English and Chinese for the board members.
· Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
