We, Blue Whale Construction Limited, are looking to employ energetic and passionate Walls & Floor Tile Setter to works with construction crews in various construction projects in Auckland, New Zealand. 

Job Details:

∙ Job location/region: Auckland, New Zealand 

∙ Number of positions for this job: 1 

∙ Employment type: Permanent 

∙ Days required: 6 days 

∙ Hours per week: minimum of 30 hours a week is guaranteed, maximumof 40 hours per week 

∙ Hourly rate: $28– 33.00 depends on the experiences and level

Job description: 

- Meeting with clientsto discusstheir tiling needs. 

- Measuring the area that must be tiled to determine stock requirements.

- Providing clients with accurate quotesfor the intended job. 

- Ordering stock supplies and gathering tiling equipment. 

- Cutting and shaping tiles to size. 

- Cleaning and leveling the surface area. 

- Applying tiling cement and arranging tiles according to design plans.

- Applying tiling grout. 

- Cleaning off excess grout and conducting post-installation inspections.

Job pre-requisites: 

- Level 4 or above relevant qualification, OR proven experience as tile setter or relevant at least 2 years is required. 

- Good communication skills. 

- Basic carpentry skills. 

- Basic mathematical skills. 

- Ability to operate hand and machine cutting tools. 

- Knowledge of tiling designs and installation techniques. 

- Ability to work crouching or kneeling for long periods. 

- Good problem-solving skills.
