Shiny Space Ltd. is a locally based construction company in New Zealand, specializing in quality business and residential building and renovation. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated carpenter to join our friendly and professional team.

 

 

Type of employment: Permanent, guaranteed 30 hours per week, roster Monday to Sunday.

Location: Auckland region

Pay: $27-$30 per hour, depending on your skills and experience

Requirements:

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in the same field or industry, OR
  • A relevant level 4 qualification or above

Tasks include:

  • Interpreting drawings and specifications under guidance to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation methods
  • Assisting in ordering and selecting timbers and other materials, and helping to prepare basic layouts
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, and securing parts using nails, screws, and other fasteners
  • Assisting in erecting frameworks, panel systems, roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards, and checking structural accuracy with levels and measuring tools
  • Installing fascia panels, basic roof sheathing, exterior cladding, and fitting standard door and window frames
  • Assembling prepared timber components to create structures and fittings for installation
  • Performing basic wood joinery tasks, with increasing proficiency in accuracy and finish
