Rich Returns Ltd operates horticultural activities in the Bay of Plenty region and requires two Horticulture Leading Hands to support daily orchard operations and supervise horticultural workers. These positions are essential for coordinating work activities, maintaining productivity standards, monitoring crop management tasks, and ensuring orchard operations are completed efficiently and in accordance with company requirements. The roles will assist management by providing on-site supervision and leadership across horticultural activities.

Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand

Location: All,Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $32 – $38 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 50 hours per week 

Key Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 Qualification

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in daily horticulture and orchard tasks.
  • Carry out and guide pruning, thinning, canopy work, mulching, and mowing activities.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor productivity and work quality.
  • Train new staff in correct horticultural techniques and safe work practices.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely (e.g. secateurs, trimmers, mulchers, mowers).
  • Guide the planning and coordination of seasonal work programmes.
  • Maintain orchard hygiene, safety, and biosecurity standards.
  • Identify and report plant health issues, hazards, or equipment faults.
  • Guide general orchard maintenance and irrigation checks when required.
  • Maintain basic records of work activities and team attendance.
