Job Title: Fruit Production Supervisor
We are Bay of Plenty based Kiwifruit orchard company. We have seen the growth of the capacity in providing labour and quality orchard service throughout the year.
To fill out the vacancy left by a departing employee, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Fruit Production Supervisor to lead our team in managing operations and ensuring the highest standards of horticultural practices.
Work location and Vacancy details:
Permanent position, full-time (guaranteed 30 - 60 hours/week, between Monday to Sunday from 6 am to 9 pm. Weekend job may involve depending on workload and weather.)
We offer a competitive wage, between 28.00 NZD/hour to 35.00 NZD/hour, depending on your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise all tasks related to kiwifruit orchard field work and property maintenance.
· Lead and work with a team of workers in the orchard operations, including overseeing planting, cultivation, nutrition management, picking, and packing processes.
· Ensure timely completion of tasks, meeting production deadlines and quality standards.
· Accurately monitor and report productivity and progress of teams to maintain operational efficiency.
· Upskill team members in all aspects of orchard management, including horticultural techniques, machinery operation and maintenance, and people management skills.
· Champion health and safety practices across all worksites to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
· Manage and supervise machinery operations, including but not limited to spraying, mowing, mulching, and fertiliser spreading.
· Schedule regular maintenance checks, arrange for repairs as needed, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
· Order and manage spray products, fertilizers, and other supplies necessary for orchard operations.
· Diagnose field issues and implement solutions quickly

The candidates are required to:
· Have minimum 2 years relevant work experience OR
· Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above or have a bachelor degree
· Have no criminal convictions
· Have excellent communication skills
· Have team leader capability and be a good team player - Attention to details
· Hard working
· Experience in operating tractors, forklifts, and various agricultural machinery.
· Ability to coordinate harvest machinery operations and manage inventory.
· Familiarity with the proper maintenance and servicing of agricultural machinery.
