GMZ Construction Limited is recruiting experienced Construction Site Supervisors to oversee residential and commercial construction & renovation projects across Auckland. We are looking for 1 site supervisor to join our busy team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan daily construction schedules, coordinate delivery, storage and allocation of construction materials, machinery and tools for multiple project sites

  • Manage on-site tradespeople including carpenters, scaffolders and subcontractors, allocate daily tasks and provide on-site technical guidance

  • Enforce site health and safety rules, carry out daily risk assessments and regular safety checks to eliminate potential hazards

  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and local building standards, conduct routine site inspections to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements

  • Communicate regularly with architects, engineers and clients, hold site progress meetings and resolve on-site technical and coordination issues in a timely manner

  • Complete daily construction logs, progress records and safety compliance documentation accurately

  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, adjust work arrangements to avoid delays and ensure smooth project delivery

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of construction site supervision experience; candidates with scaffolding or carpentry trade background are prioritised

  • Able to read architectural and structural drawings, familiar with New Zealand building codes and WorkSafe regulations

  • Strong leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills to coordinate multiple subcontractor teams

  • Hold a valid driver licence for travel between Auckland sites; physically fit for frequent outdoor site inspections

  • High safety awareness with no major workplace accident records; current First Aid certificate is a plus

  • Capable of independent site management, reporting and quality control work with careful attention to detail

Work Details

  • Location: Multiple construction sites across Auckland

  • Hours: 35–40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, overtime paid separately

  • Employment: Permanent Full-time

  • Pay Rate: NZ$xxx per hour, annual performance bonus applicable

  • Commute: Must reliably travel to various Auckland work locations
