About the Role
We are looking for 3 Developers to join our Workflow & Communications team within the Core Clinical and Specialised Applications portfolio, on a 12 month, fixed-term basis.
In this role, you will support a range of critical clinical workflow, communication, referral, and documentation systems used across Health New Zealand. Working closely with clinicians, business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, you will develop electronic documentation templates, document workflows, investigate issues, develop and maintain a database of form templates, manage incidents and service requests, and help ensure our applications remain reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.
In addition to supporting existing systems, you will have opportunities to contribute to the design, configuration, and implementation of digital forms and workflow solutions using vendor applications, helping to improve the way clinical information is captured, managed, and shared across Health New Zealand.

In this role, you will:
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents, service requests, and complex system issues, working closely with clinicians, vendors, technical specialists, and business stakeholders
- Configure, maintain, and support digital forms and workflow solutions using vendor platforms to meet clinical and operational business needs
- Contribute to project initiatives as required, working as part of multidisciplinary project teams to deliver application enhancements, new functionality, system implementations, and business change outcomes
- Support application upgrades, releases, testing activities, and configuration changes to ensure successful implementation and minimal disruption to services
- Participate in incident, problem, and major incident management processes, including root cause analysis and service restoration activities
- Maintain application documentation, knowledge articles, operational procedures, and support resources
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, support processes, and service delivery outcomes
- Develop expertise across multiple applications within the Workflow & Communications portfolio while building specialist knowledge in key systems
- Ensure compliance with Health NZ operational, security, privacy, and risk management requirements
From time to time, you may be required to travel, participate in on-call support, assist with planned after-hours work, or support major system changes and project implementations.
About the Team and Service
The Workflow & Communications team sits within the Digital Applications & Products group and supports a portfolio of critical clinical workflow, communication, referral, and documentation systems used across Health New Zealand.
Our work extends beyond operational support. We partner with clinical and business stakeholders to design, configure, and support digital forms and workflow solutions using vendor platforms, helping to streamline clinical processes, improve information capture, and enable more efficient delivery of healthcare services.
We work closely with clinicians, vendors, infrastructure teams, project teams, and other Digital Services functions to ensure our applications remain reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.

About You
You'll be passionate about technology, customer service, and problem solving. You enjoy investigating issues, working collaboratively with others, and delivering solutions that make a genuine difference to end users and patient care.
You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, and working within a complex enterprise environment.
You will ideally have:
- 3–5 years' experience supporting business, clinical, or enterprise applications within an application support environment
- Demonstrated experience investigating and resolving application incidents, service requests, and system problems
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript. Familiarity with ReactJS is also advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions
- Experience working with service management frameworks and tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms
- Experience configuring applications, forms, workflows, or business processes within vendor-supported platforms would be highly advantageous
- Experience working with databases, APIs, integrations, interfaces, or system administration activities would be advantageous
- An understanding of service management principles and operational support practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience working in healthcare, clinical systems, or other highly regulated environments would be highly regarded
