We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

The Role

Based at Whangārei Hospital campus, this permanent Project Specialist position will play a key role in supporting the delivery of multiple projects, with a particular focus on end-to-end coordination of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) procurement, delivery, and installation. Working alongside project managers, contractors, consultants, and clinical stakeholders, you will help ensure spaces are operationally ready and fit for purpose by managing the procurement lifecycle, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring seamless project delivery. The role will also see you manage project documentation, reporting, and governance requirements, support financial tracking, and proactively identify and manage risks and issues. You will contribute to ensuring a smooth transition from construction into operational environments, with a strong focus on detail and coordination.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience supporting projects within construction, healthcare, or infrastructure environments
  • Exposure to FF&E planning, procurement, coordination, or delivery
  • Strong organisational capability, with experience managing schedules, risks and project documentation
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced, and regulated environments
  • Strong working knowledge of MS 365 tools, including Microsoft Project
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused approach.

You will be delivery-focused, adaptable, and confident managing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality outcomes.

While primarily based in Whangārei, the role includes regular travel across the region to support delivery and installation at other sites, including Dargaville, Kerikeri and Kaitaia.
