What's the role?
We're looking for an enthusiastic Fruit Inspector to join our team. This is a fixed-term opportunity with guaranteed hours and the chance to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment at the Port of Tauranga and local cool stores. Contract: Two month fixed-term contract Hours: 40 hours per fortnight guaranteed Location: Port of Tauranga & industry cool stores Schedule: Flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings (from 6:30am), based on shipping needs. What you'll do: Inspect kiwifruit consignments to ensure they meet Zespri's high standards Maintain accurate audit records of inspection findings Identify and report fruit quality and food safety issues Operate electric pallet jiffy (training provided) Stack/de-stack pallets and use strapping tools Adhere to health & safety policies Support ad hoc tasks and projects as needed
Who are you?
Have good numeracy skills and attention to detail Can write clearly and accurately Possess basic computer skills Are eager to learn Zespri fruit grade standards Physically fit for hands-on work Prior experience with pallet jiffy or kiwifruit industry is a plus, but not essential Knowledge of food safety is desirable
