Manager, Finance Business Partners - Waitemata

About the Role
This is a senior finance leadership opportunity reporting to the Group Manager Finance Waitematā. As Manager – Finance Business Partners, you will lead the Finance Business Partnering function for Waitematā, providing high-quality financial advice, analysis and business partnering support to operational and service leaders. You'll play a key role in driving strong financial management, supporting budgeting and forecasting, improving financial performance and enabling informed decision-making across services.
Leading a team of 8–10 Finance Business Partners, you'll provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and direction while ensuring high-quality, consistent and timely financial deliverables. You'll act as a key relationship link between Finance and H&SS clinical services, working closely with the Group Manager Finance and senior operational leaders to provide a consolidated financial perspective on service performance, risks and opportunities.
You'll oversee annual budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reporting, provide financial leadership on business cases and major initiatives, and support financial sustainability across Waitematā. As a key member of the Northern Region Financial Leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to influence financial strategy and contribute to the delivery of better outcomes for the communities we serve.
About you
You are an experienced senior finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent commercial judgement and people leadership. You're confident partnering with senior stakeholders and translating complex financial information into clear insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
You will bring:
- Chartered Accountant status or equivalent professional accounting membership.
- Proven experience in a senior financial management or leadership role, with responsibility for financial operations, people leadership, budgets, forecasting, cost management, risk and compliance.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and finance, including cost accounting, financial regulations and performance analytics.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and build a culture of financial accountability. Experience within a healthcare or clinical environment would be highly desirable.
