About the Role

The Regional RIS/PACS Systems Lead is accountable for the operational performance, technical integrity and resilience of PACS, RIS and interdependent radiology digital infrastructure across Te Manawa Taki.

Working within the regional direction set by the Regional Radiology Service Delivery Lead, you will provide senior technical and operational leadership across District RIS/PACS teams, driving consistency in service delivery, governance, risk management and compliance with national digital health standards.

You will lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of the regional RIS/PACS service delivery framework, ensuring alignment with Health NZ's digital health strategy and the Diagnostic Improvement Programme. You will provide technical direction on complex and high-risk issues, lead the regional response to significant incidents, and support transformational change across radiology digital services.

The role works across IT, radiology, clinical and vendor environments to ensure resilient, integrated digital imaging services that support patient safety, diagnostic timeliness and high-quality clinical outcomes.

About You

You bring 8–10 years of progressive experience in RIS/PACS, digital health or a related senior operational environment, with experience leading regional or multi-site services.

You have strong knowledge of DICOM, HL7, IHE and relevant healthcare standards, together with a proven ability to lead system, process and performance improvement at regional or national scale.

You bring strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with experience in quality management, clinical governance, continuous improvement and programme or project delivery. Knowledge of Service Improvement and/or Clinical Redesign methodologies will be highly valued.

You are a confident and collaborative leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment, manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in situations involving significant technical, operational and service risk.
