About the Role | Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi

We support up to six guests in our double-staffed enhanced respite service, providing a safe and supportive space for people in acute need. Our team engages with guests, offering practical support, connection, and advocacy throughout their stay. Availability to work awake overnight shifts is essential for this position.

Working in respite some of your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting tāngata whai ora regain their mental health and independence.
  • Providing safe medication support
  • Housekeeping to a high standard
  • Comprehensive note taking and handovers
  • Cooking nutritious inviting meals
  • Advocating for and empowering the people we support

We have two permanent roles available:

Role 1: Tuesday to Thursday, 11:00pm to 7.30am (24 hours per week)

Role 2: Friday to Monday, 11:00pm to 7.30am (32 hours per week)

About You | Mōu

We're seeking people with a caring nature who use recovery- and trauma-informed approaches to actively support tāngata whai ora in achieving and maintaining their wellbeing.

We are looking for people who:

  • Can work awake night shifts.
  • Hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent, or are currently working towards it.
  • Hold a current full NZ driver's licence
  • Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
