Teknique is a subsidiary of Resideo - a US-based global leader in smart home technology. Our vision is to lead innovation in artificial-intelligence-enabled video camera development and solutions. Our R&D efforts cover security, safety, access control, video machine learning/AI, 3D vision, and camera sensors and lenses.

We're looking for a handful of equally passionate, high achievers who would like to be part of our 10-week Summer intern program. We have some exciting opportunities in the software, electrical, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning fields.

Based in Albany, Auckland in our repurposed industrial space, our high performing team simultaneously enjoys the perks of a large global and a small NZ tech company. We pride ourselves on our amazing team culture, and are lucky to have free snacks, a great coffee machine, and weekly social events.

Job Duties:

As interns you will get to experience what it takes to bring an idea from concept to product. You will be working side-by-side with experienced engineers to deliver quality technology and data solutions to aid in the delivery of leading edge video, AI and imaging products. This is a unique chance to drive Teknique and Resideo to accomplish their mission to "Protect What Matters Most" while bringing innovation to the way we live.

We are looking for up to 9 interns this Summer. We have a variety of innovation projects which include the following:

  • Developing, assessing and training cutting-edge, edge-based, video, artificial intelligence models for home safety and security applications.
  • Employing and training AI models to learn and absorb technical knowledge bases and producing proof-of-concept products for future R&D efforts.
  • Developing a proof-of-concept solar/battery camera models for deployment where power sources are unavailable.

You Must:

  • Be studying, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 6-10. If the study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago.
  • Be studying, or have studied, science, technology, engineering, design or business at a New Zealand tertiary education institute.
  • Not have been previously employed at the business in either a full-time or part-time permanent position (temporary short-term employment is permitted).
